Business Connexion is a leader in ICT solutions and services, we offer a dynamic and innvoative environment and are looking for a like-minded Network Management Engineer to join us! The role as a Senior NMS Engineer working with the Network monitoring and management systems which servicing Enterprise and Service Provider Environments.

It involves the administration, implementation, analysis of data, configuration and automation of the following network management tool sets for Network, ISP and Voice clients



CA Spectrum
CA eHealth
Cisco Prime Infrastructure
Cisco Prime Optical
CA NFA
Live health
and other network monitoring tools and probes (Riverbed, Wireshark etc.)
The function will include:

Troubleshoot network management tools and client environment.
Analysis of Packet Captures.
Reporting
Integration between clients networks the management tools and call logging (ITSM7).
Understand and implementation of SLA deliverables for clients.
Understand Network management tools architectural and design for the clients.
Document standards and procedures for day to day running of network management tool sets.
Manage and maintain tool sets upgrades and patch releases.
Understand network management principles and protocols.
Reporting on network management tool set and client environments.
Assist in design/Architecture of network management for client and internal networks.
Train internal and external Stakeholders on using tools
Investigate and propose new solutions/technologies to enable effective Network Management.
Provide input in to RFP process matching correct solution to new requirements.
Daily system Health Checks to ensure tools function optimally;
Completion of any administrative tasks as requested (adding and deleting of Network devices)
Adherence to the ITIL process
Investigate how new technology/devices can be monitored

Education

Grade 12.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Any Network Management Tool Certifications (Spectrum, Cisco Works, EHealth)
Experience

Network Management certifications e.g. (Spectrum, Cisco Works, EHealth). ITIL Foundation Certification.
Use of Probes and analyzers.
Report writing.
A total of 2 years’ experience in the network management field.
1 year experience in network operations support would be beneficial.
Experience in server configuration, deployment and different operating systems.

Essential operational requirements:

Cellular phone: The employee is required to have a fully functional cellular telephone during all material times when work related communication is/may be necessary. This is critical to ensure that tasks may be allocated to the employee, status updates may be done, escalations may be actioned and accurate and immediate communication can take place as and when required to ensure outstanding efficient and effective service to all clients
Driver’s license: The employee is required to have a legitimate and official RSA driver’s license during all material times when work travel is/may be necessary to ensure outstanding efficient and effective service to all clients.
Motor vehicle: The employee is required to have a fully functional, roadworthy motor vehicle during all material times when work related travel is/may be necessary. This is critical to ensure that tasks may be allocated to an employee and that the employee may independently action upon and timeously complete such tasks on the applicable client sites to ensure outstanding efficient and effective service to all clients.
The above noted requirements with regard to cellular phones, driver’s licenses and motor vehicles are material to the agreement to employ the employee and the ability of the employee to fulfil the duties and responsibilities agreed to in the contract of employment. Failure to adhere to the above noted requirements may result in the appropriate action to be taken and the reconsideration of the suitability of the employee for continued employment within the company. The employees agreement, acceptance and signature of the employment contract constitutes agreement and acceptance of the requirement for a cellular phone, driver’s license and motor vehicle as described above
