Responsibilities:Organisation Capability:
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff , or participate in staffing decisions.
- Ensure IT support staff have the right competencies and skills to deliver on IT’s objectives.
- Performance management of IT support staff.
IT Risk Management:
- Ensures IT environment is secure.
- Ensure servers/workstations/databases have the latest virus/security patches and are updated regularly.
IT Reliability:
- Ensure IT environment is reliable, stable and performs according user expectations.
- Manage backup and recovery of company data including disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Ensure a reduction in business incidents especially critical and high incidents.
- Regular review if key IT Operational dashboards and alerts to eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Ensure regular IT maintenance is conducted in the environment – hardware and software.
IT Service Management:
- Provide IT Services that exceeds customer expectations.
- Ensure helpdesk/service desk functions efficiently.
- IT Services are provided and delivered according agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Ensure Supplier Management processes and engagements are in place and efficient.
- Follow the ITIL process for continuous improvement.
General:
- Continually scan the external environment to identity new technologies.
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology - Essential
- Business/Commerce related qualification - Desirable
- Project Management Qualification - Desirable
- Technology related qualifications (eg MCITP – Desirable)
- 4-6 years’ relevant experience
