QUALIFICATIONS: Matric
Internationally recognized Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety field
Current, updated additional qualifications on Health & Safety legislation
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum 2 years experience in managing Occupational Health and Safety in the construction industry
Good Excel knowledge
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Obtaining and maintaining all legislative documentation pertaining to Health & Safety including, but not limited to, Letter of Good Standing, VAT Clearance Certificates, Department of Labour Notifications, Incident reporting etc.
Creating, updating and maintaining all Health & Safety related Policies and Procedures
Conducting regular training and updates on Health & Safety Policies and Procedures with all staff both in Johannesburg and at national branches
Assessment of working areas in new buildings or new projects for installation prior to site establishment
Arranging inductions for teams at new customer sites when necessary
Compiling and maintaining all required Safety Files
Updating and maintaining required OHS documentation and Service Level Agreements together with Divisional Managers
Good inter-personal skills and good communication skills
Understand and be able to interpret, explain and implement instructions
Be able to handle tasks timeously and of a very high standard
Ability to show initiative and enthusiasm
Ability to motivate and assist team members when necessary
Full knowledge of acceptable Occupational Health & Safety practices
Ability to interact positively with team members
Ability to take full responsibility for legislative requirements in Occupational Health & Safety
Compassionate, ability to listen and ability to help team members
Accuracy in work produced
Assertive and decisive and have good managing and planning skills
