Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the systems/business analystteam lead will include the following:
a) Take responsibility for a set of applications thatsupport business processes of specific line functions;
b) Continuously assess the relevanceand value-add of the respective system(s) and recommend new solutions where necessary;
c)Where system enhancements are required, compile design documents and manage the changes throughoutthe system development life cycle;
d) Provide user support and respond to user calls orissues logged with the Helpdesk;
e) Document and manage expectations of line functionmanagers and users of the system that he/she is responsible for;
f) Investigate, fix, testand migrate system bugs’ fixes through the different environments;
g) Compile or updatetraining manuals and participate in the actual training of system users.
2.4 SkillsRequirements
The personnel appointed will be responsible fordoing the actual development of the different system modules and reports. As such, curriculum vitaeof personnel with the following technical skills should be submitted:
a) Applicationdevelopment/programming experience on a Microsoft platform and using same tools as indicatedbelow.
b) Ability to work from detailed functional specifications, database designs and testscripts in order to complete development tasks and unit testing;
c) A level of proficiency inMicrosoft technologies used for application development in the Commission’s ICT environment(see table below);
d) A high level of proficiency in writing Microsoft SQL queries, includingsub queries and cursors;
e) Familiarity with configuration management tools, design tools,debugging tools, and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implementan application;
f) Ability to work effectively as part of a team in support of theteam’s goals.
g) Ability to communicate clearly – verbally and in writtenform;
h) Ability and willingness to engage in formal and informal knowledge transfer; and
i) Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving technical issues.
