An understanding of IT Business Processes is important. Financial process information and experience having dealt with software development teams would be beneficial. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, is key. You must be able to understand the full spectrum of processes and how they map to the operational system, along with the detail, and be able to interrogate the effectiveness of related processes and software.Development
o Translate business needs to technical specifications
o Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools (SSRS))
o Maintain and support data analytics platforms
o Create tools to store data
o Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
o Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
o Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
o Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
o Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
o Develop and update technical documentation

Project coordination
o Arrange meetings with stakeholders
o Take notes from meetings to form action points
o Assign action points to relevant team members
o Follow up on overdue tasks

Issue Tracking
o Understand operational systems and business processes
o Identify, collect, and collate issues and / or bugs arising from the operational system
o Identify process inefficiencies and problems.
o Coordinate with software development team to communicate issues and receive feedback
o Distribute feedback to business stakeholders and team managers.

System Development coordination
o Gather system feature requests from business users
o Log feature requests with software development team
o Liaise with software development team on requests and timelines
o Coordinate meetings with stakeholders for scoping and gather feedback

Contractor management
o Timekeeping of sub-contractors relating to system development and / or reporting
o Manage IT related sub-contractor’s timelines, scope, and feedback
o Update management on tasks

Team Communication
o Keep a centralized log of projects, tasks, bugs, issues, and business process problems
o Streamline communication between various team members, development team, and management

Reference for this position is BI/BA - Johannesburg which is a permanent position based in Kew - Johannesburg offering a market related salary.
