The AWS Support Team is seeking Engineers that enjoy solving problems, enjoy working with customers and have a strong technical background in Applications Management and Software Development using GIT, SVN, and at least one popular programming language. Do you have experience as a Systems Administrator working with Linux, Unix or Windows, and understand the advantages of working in a highly distributed virtual environment? Every day challenges:
· Troubleshoot application deployments, recreate customer issues, build proof of concept applications
· Write and interpret configuration scripts for customer environments to install programs, configure logging, and modify configuration files using DSL
· Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns and suggesting fixes
· Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs
· Leverage your extensive customer support experience to provide feedback (Voice of the Customer) to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services
· Drive customer communication during critical events
· Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers’ technical support experience
· Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for internal and customer communities
· Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span multiple AWS services

Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Maths/Physics or equivalent qualifications.
· 3+ years of experience in a technical position.
· Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)
· Familiarity with one or more version control systems (SVN, Perforce, TFVC, Git, MS Team Foundation)
· Experience building or managing applications from the Application layer down
· Understand the complete deployment lifecycle from design, build, test, deploy
· Coding ability (Java/Tomcat, .NET, Ruby, Python, Node.js, PHP)
· Networking (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL)
· Support / Troubleshooting experience
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Customer service experience / strong customer focus
· Strong multitasking skills
· Self-starter who is excited about technology
· Open to working non-standard hours (no night shifts) including a Sun-Mon or Fri-Sat weekend
Preferred Qualifications
· Scripting experience (Ruby, Python, Bash, Powershell)
· Chef, Puppet, Jenkins or any build automation deployment experience
· DevOps background
· Database experience (PostGres, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
· Session management (Memcached, Redis)
· Exposure to Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor)
· Expertise with IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring / Troubleshooting tools
· Exposure to Cloud computing
· Exposure to security concepts / best practices.
