Mechanical Maintenance Manager Well known FMCG Company is looking to employ a Mechanical Maintenance Manager with a Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG environment and 2 years managerial experience.

Minimum requirements:

Qualified artisan with a N6 qualification or B-Tech Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG environment and 2 years managerial experience
Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software
Technical abilities to resolve complex engineering plant breakdowns
Analytical thinker with the ability to think globally

Key responsibilities:

Maintain and repair production related equipment to ensure a consistent quality product.
Maximise plant availability through effective completion of preventative and routine maintenance schedules as required.
Ensure proper document control is exercised and all equipment technical manuals and drawings are available for assets on site.
Support and take lead on all mechanical issues
Implement root cause analysis to prevent recurring failures.
Liaise with peers to ensure effective control and co-ordination of contractors on site.
Ensure availability of critical spares.
Manage all maintenance personnel i.e. Discipline, Time and Attendance, safety gear, leave planning, utilisation of staff, overtime management etc.
Ensure maintenance practices adhere to the following standards, ISO14001, HACCP, FSSC22000, Engineering standards and any other existing standards.
Daily feedback to Plant Engineer on all maintenance issues and plans to improve equipment reliability, product quality and safety.
Help stores personnel in reviewing and maintaining an efficient spare parts list
Set up an annual training program for maintenance personnel in line with competency gaps and plant requirements.
Co-ordinate daily activities with production and other departments and communicate to subordinates.
Maintain safety standards
Ensure that the equipment complies with the safety standards.
