Senior Systems Technician:
Telephony & PBX Administration
Information and Communication Service (ICS)

UWC’s Information and Communication Services (ICS) Department has embarked on an exciting journey of change and transformation, playing a pivotal role in delivering technology services that enable and support the University’s goals and objectives. In line with growing its capacity, we invite applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Senior Systems Technician.
The successful incumbent must have a good understanding of and ability to configure the University's Unify HiPath 4000 v5 and v7 PBX, previously known as Siemens HiPath 4000, and to use both assistant and expert modes. Since UWC is embarking on a strategic goal of positioning the institution favourably in the digital era, the successful candidate must be willing to learn and implement new telephony technologies to support this vision.

Key Performance Areas:

- PBX administration in both TDM and VoIP
- Telephony services management
- Telephony incident and request management
- Telephony inventory management
- Form partnerships with other team members and liaise with relevant stakeholders across the institution
- Adherence to IT policies, processes and governance compliance

Minimum Requirements:

- Matric with relevant telecoms Unify PBX certification essential
- At least 3 years' proven working experience using HiPath Assistant and Expert mode
- Experience in supervising and leading a team would be beneficial
