Peresys, a global technology solutions provider to the financial markets industry, is looking for a Software Test Analyst to join the Peresys Hermes team in Johannesburg.

You will be required to perform comprehensive testing on existing and new applications as well as assist with any priority issues requiring resolution.
You will be required to:

• Acquire a solid understanding of the Peresys business space
• Draw up comprehensive test plans and test cases to test products/solutions
• Manual testing (based on test plans and test cases)
• Cosmetic, GUI and usability testing
• Functional, Regression, Front End and Back End testing
• Quality assurance around user interfaces and other parts of the software
• Performance and stress testing
• Defect (Bug) logging, defect reporting and defect maintenance
• Liaise with development team and business/system users
• Provide assistance (technical and/or other) on products/solutions to internal support (Peresys Help Desk) team
• Compile documentation (i.e. instructions for new installations, upgrades and release notes)

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
• Highly technical - University or Technicon graduate
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment

Must have minimum 1 years’ experience in:
• Manual testing
• Testing Windows applications
• Database knowledge/experience (SQL Server preferred)
• Analysing, interpreting and communicating problems

Knowledge of the following will be advantageous:
• Financial Markets
• Agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM)
• Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Test Professional
• Database knowledge (SQL Server preferred)

Other requirements:
• Must have a Degree or Diploma from Computer/Engineering or related field
• Post graduate degree will be an advantage
• Software testing experience, particularly in the finance industry or other mission critical environments, would be an advantage
