One ofDatacentrix major client in Upington is looking to appoint a Desktop Technician on along term contract. The candidate must hold an A+ and N+ certification coupled with 6 yearsexperience in the desktop support environment
 
Experience &Skills

Minimum of 6 years relevant experience within an IT Supportenvironment

Previous experience within networking support,software and hardware support essential

Provide physical firstlevel support and diagnostics, assisting the Service Desk Agent’s, second Level Expert’sand third Level Experts

Perform first Level Diagnostics in caseswhere the SDA‘s cannot

Assist with answering the phoneduring busy or peak periods

Provide remote support to theSDA’s and  Second Level Expert‘s

Fulfil the roleof SDA during busy / peak periods after hours and over weekends

Build new workstations, laptops, printers and any other required hardware configurationthat is not covered by other contracts

Conduct swap-out ofexisting workstations, switches, notebooks, printers, monitors and any other physical componentrequired during service restoration

Upgrade workstations, laptopsand other hardware, as required, in line with existing maintenance contracts

Restore operating systems on workstations and laptops including Fidsmachines

Conduct Fids rounds according to the agreed schedule toensure effective operation of the Fids Infrastructure
Conduct an effectivehandover at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring that no incidents are dropped, neglected,forgotten or poorly managed
