Experience and requirements
5+ years in an industrial maintenanceenvironment focusing on software development.
In-depth knowledge of programminglanguages including .Net, C++ and C#.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle developer toolsincluding database application development tools, business intelligence and reporting tools, as wellas the traditional (e.g. forms, reports) tools.
Working knowledge of Iron Making,Steel Making and Hot Strip Mill processes.
Proven record of analytical and systemsintegration thinking.

Jobkey performance areas
Create a framework (strategic vision with actions)for managing PAS Level 2 related activities that focus on both maintenance work and value addinitiatives.
Establish regular networking sessions (eg. monthly video conmeetings, KMPs, quarterly brainstorming workshops, etc.) with AMSA plants to obtain insights andinspiration for unique solutions at Saldanha.
Foster innovative thinking in the L2environment by researching the latest trends (eg. Google Scholar, TED reviews, etc.) for PASsolutions in heavy industry and finding the appropriate fit for these solutions in the Saldanhaenvironment.
Create formal structures for training that focuses on both internalcross-pollination as well as external up-skilling of technical skills.
Create aroles and responsibility matrix and constantly review the responsibilities for each subordinate suchthat there is an even spread of duties related to business application systems, pure IT/L2 systems,maintenance/development work and value add initiatives.
Perform discrepancyanalysis on any incident, change or project who’s due date for completion has lapsed.
Review each staff member’s productivity on a monthly basis and implementremedial actions in areas of concern such as counseling.
Assist in both internaland external audits and ensure findings and recommendations are completed in the agreed upon timeframe.
