BACKGROUND:

The successful incumbent will provide learning technology service and support to Academic Staff, Academic Administrative Staff and Students, on all aspects of academic technology and integration.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide learning technology support according to agreed and measured service standards.
- Ongoing Lecturer support and advice in all aspects and modalities of learning technology, ensuring all modules are complete with required information.
- Provide Canvas support to Administrative Staff, and webinar / guest speaker / live session support as required.
- Learning technology design and development, aligned to agreed and measured service standards and up-to-date knowledge and evaluation of learning technology developments. This includes building and populating existing and new Canvas blueprints and templates, the upload and roll-over of course content, HTML workarounds and preparation and upload of teaching snippets / video's.
- Investigate and report on new applications, functionality and usage recommendations.
- Plan and provide Staff training on all relevant learning modalities.
- Develop and maintain ''how-to'' guides for Staff and Students.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

- Related Post-graduate qualification in multi-media or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience utilising a Learning Management System ( LMS ) ( preferably Canvas ).
- Experience conducting application, research and evaluation.
- Pedagogy, HTML / CSS and Javascript knowledge would be advantageous.
- Ability to convert training documented on paper to an LMS.
- IT, Design Software, on-line course development and MS Office knowledge and experience.
