Database Administrator II (Oracle, SQL, CICS/MQ)
Role details:
Job Purpose
Responsible for definition, creation and maintenance of theenterprise data model.
Ensures that the structure meets long-term needs of theorganisation.
Analyses, tests, and implements physical database design supportingvarious business applications.
Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and spacerequirements for physical database are met through formulation andmonitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to databasemanagement.
Should be an experienced systems analyst with an in-depth knowledgeof database concepts in general and detailed understanding of the DBMSbeing used in the home environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Departmental cost containment.
Adhere to cost containment to database administration environmentcapturing.
Capturing CATTS system, billing details, closure of TRS requestsand time spent on tasks and projects.
Quality Customer Service:
Provide customer support, maintain and improve customersatisfaction.
Service delivery in adherence to agreed SLA/OLA.
Manage outages to customer, business and GSS satisfaction.
Identify and suggest technical recommendations to senior staff inthe department to senior staff in the department.
Internal Environments and Process:
Designs physical data base structures from logical data models,evaluates models to ensure design conforms to business and technicalrequirements.
Assist in processing of user requests to create new relationaldatabases
Assist in processing of user requests to maintain.
Existing relations databases.
Assist with installation and rollout of Maintenance and Patches.
Perform support for the environment.
Perform monitoring of Database performance and application andreport necessary changes to enhance system performance.
Assist with the upgrading of the database to the latest supportedversion.
Assist with the evaluation third party software and performinstallation and upgrades.
Report and maintain data recovery plans to ensure BusinessContinuity capability in the event of a disaster.
Perform and assist with data migration and interfaces to othersub-systems.
Actioning and adherence of audit requirements.
Manage, monitor and configure database security.

Requirements:
An appropriate TechnicalCertificate/Degree/Diploma - Information Systems.
Certified DBA.
2-4 years related experience.
Standby and perform & implement after hour change requests.
A valid drivers license.
