We are looking for Network architect to create and optimise the networking system for our client who is in the banking industry.

Job Objectives

Define the organisation’s Network Strategy and Architecture
Design Network Solutions
Implement Network Designs
Ad-hoc operational support

Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

Minimum
• TCP/IP protocol stack
• WAN technologies: MPLS, Satellite, ADSL, GPRS/3G, etc.
• Routing protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and Policy Based Routing
• Spanning-tree and VLAN configurations
• Router and Switch configurations
• Network redundancy, high-availability design and load balancing implementations
• Quality of Service
• Firewall topologies and configurations
• IPsec and SSL VPNs

Ideal / Optional in addition to minimum
• Network Performance Monitoring
• WAN optimisation
• Business Continuity Plan design
• Network Capacity Planning
• IPS configurations
• Secure Gateway / Forward Proxy configurations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• A Professional level network related qualification (e.g. CCNP)
• A network security related qualification (e.g. FCNSP, CCNA Security, Checkpoint)
• A relevant 3 year degree / diploma in IT (e.g. B.Sc. Engineering, Information Systems)
• A Network Design Qualification (e.g. CCDA, CCDP), Multiple qualifications in various networking disciplines (i.e. Routing, Switching, Firewall, IPS, VPN, Data Centre, Virtualization, etc.) – Ideal
• 4+ years’ experience in the networking environment.
• 2+ years in Network infrastructure design - Ideal
• Experience in various networking disciplines (e.g. Firewalls, Data Centre, etc.) – Ideal
