Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
1) Technical Fault Finding
• Must have 3rd level support troubleshooting capabilities
2) Analytical Thinking
• Frequently asks questions, investigates and gives attention to information
• Notices discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information
• Continually detail focused & inquisitive
• Can compare, to attend to detail, to plan and to insist on quality
• Carefully weighs the priority of things to be done
• Identifies many possible causes for a problem
3) Feedback and Reporting
• Provides positive, helpful and productive feedback to co-workers
• Establishes effective personal contacts and acts as the channel for contact with other parties
4) User Support
• Assist in solving business problems by providing detailed personal advice and guidance to all users in the effective use of systems, products and services available to them
• Continuously demonstrates ingenuity in applying knowledge to non-standard situations.
• Assist users in making more effective use of desktop and network systems, products and services, investigating complex problem situations to diagnose underlying causes and helping users to recover or continue operation.
• Provide an effective interface between users and service providers, for all requests that cannot be resolved, supplying all necessary diagnostic information, according to established procedures.
• Use judgement to set priority for resolution, monitor progress and apply escalation procedures for problems not progressing satisfactorily.
• Propose, discuss and evaluate potential solutions with service providers and implement agreed field modifications or workarounds as directed.
• In consultation with users, demonstrate all features, plans requirements, installs (including field modification) and commission systems, products and services and their upgrades.

Qualifications
Relevant Diploma (NQF 6) in Information Technology or Business or related
Alternatively, Grade 12 (NQF 4) with relevant IT Certification

Experience
3 - 5 years’ experience in infrastructure solutions specifically in LAN, Wireless and WAN systems (Cisco products).

Certification/ Professional Registration
Cisco CCNP certification.

Special Requirements
Required to travel locally and internationally
Willing to work extended hours
