Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and skills: BSC. Computer Science/Information Technology or 3 year IT Diploma is essential.
Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification is essential.
5 years IT network support experience is essential.
5 years of applied experience in network operations is desirable.
IT Banking support experience is desirable.
ITIL qualification is desirable.
CCNA Wireless and CCDA certifications is desirable.
Formal training in network design, installation, and maintenance is essential.
Understand and have expertise in TCP/IP.
Good interpersonal skills and relationship management skills are essential.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
A self-starter, who requires low levels of direct supervision.
Ability to troubleshoot and work through complex problems is essential.
Ability to translate technical responses in a way that users can understand and relate to.
Willingness to work irregular hours and to be on standby on a regular basis as well as working on Saturdays.
Key Performance Areas:
Configure WAN routers.
Design and manage system-level Wide Area Network and LANs.
Design and manage network hardware.
Configure and manage servers.
Set up group policies and network security.
Build, maintain, and provide security on routers and firewall.
Install network software.
Provide technical advice as required for system planning.
Install and maintain network cabling.
Install and maintain fibre.
Configure and maintain existing IP Telephony.
Expertise in wireless setup and architecture.
Configure and maintain network monitoring infrastructure.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
