Responsible for the provision of day-to-day network admin and support in a multiple networkenvironment (LAN, WAN, wireless, satellite), including resolution of network user problems, databackup/restore, network performance statistics, diagnostic information, and site surveys. Themaintenance and monitoring of network  switches, routers, firewalls, etc., and activities suchas network address assignment, assignment of routing protocols and routing table configuration aswell as configuration of authentication and authorization – directory services.  Theauthorisation and monitoring of access to specific parts of the network infrastructure in accordancewith established organisational policy.  Includes investigation of unauthorised access, and theperformance of other administrative duties relating to network security management.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Manage security solutions, including firewall and intrusion detectionsystems.
Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs.
Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.
Administer all equipment, hardware andsoftware upgrades on network equipment.
Perform network design and capacity planning.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of networkprocurement and development efforts.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, andcontractors to secure network products and services.
Develop, implement and maintainpolicies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriateuse, and disaster recovery.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance ofnetwork component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Perform network system backups and recovery.
Monitor and test network performance andprovide network performance statistics and reports.
Recommend, schedule, and performnetwork improvements, upgrades, and repairs.


 
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Desired Qualification:
IT diploma
Minimum Qualification:
Relevant Industry Certification (e.g. Microsoft, CISCO) N+ , A+
Relevant Experience:
3-6 years experience
Experience Areas:

Experience in IT Industry
Relevant functional experience
Atleast two years’ experience as Junior Network Administrator will be an advantage
