IT Specialist: Application Developer
Salary: R270 804 (excluding benefits) per annum (Ref. S028/2015)
Pretoria
Purpose:
To develop software and conduct software support and maintenance on systems, design, develop test and document software to meet specified user requirements.

Key outputs: Publish approved content to the application and web environments based on a formalised publishing process
Configure web applications based on business requirements
Deploy standard functionality on collaboration technology and User Requirement Specifications
Investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques
Assist in presenting solutions for client information
Document new and existing applications according to industry standards (technical and functional specification)
Develop custom reports based on business requirements on all production technologies
Develop user, and administrative training manuals
Interpret specifications to plan a new application requirement
Design solutions from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result
Plan, design and conduct tests of solutions, correcting errors and re-testing to achieve an error-free result in alignment with the approved standards
Interpret and execute a set of more test plans using agreed methods and standards
Test applications against business requirements
Document test results for record purposes.
Requirements:
Degree/National Diploma in Information Technology
Software development language certification (C# and .Net), SharePoint, MCSD and an ITIL certification
2-5 years experience in an information technology environment
Knowledge of relational database concepts and design (SQL)
Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
Adherence to existing systems with defined procedures set out in the service level agreement.
