Job Purpose

Administration of client server environment as well as maintain and support the operating systems; understanding Client requirements and recommending suitable solutions over multiple Time Zones (RSA; Africa; Australia; Isle of Man; France and Brazil)

Job Objectives

Operations:
•Monitoring and support of servers (hardware and software)
•Administration and support of Client Backup infrastructure (Netbackup and Backup Exec) - including installation of hardware and software
•Support; Maintenance and Troubleshooting of client environment (hardware/software) and liaising with 3rd Pies (Veritas, EMC, etc) Servers and Backup Environment
•Pro-active support and maintenance of client environment
•Provisioning of servers with Hyper-V
•Full Client Support on site and remote sites

•Line manager
•Build and maintain good relationships with client and relevant stakeholders
•Account Teams
•Project liaison with both Internal and External Management

Job Knowledge and Skills

•Knowledge of: Netbackup and Backup Exec (installation and support) as well as system architecture and design (limited)
•Windows Server, 2008, 2012R2 - administration and maintenance
•VMware ESXi - knowledge of virtualised production datacentre environments

Job Requirements

EDUCATION
•Post-Secondary Certificate in Microsoft and Hyper-V/VMWare
•Minimum Certifications/Accreditations
•Certification: MCITP/MCSE, Hyper-V, VMWare

EXPERIENCE
•Technical: Competent contributor that can work without supervision in the Microsoft System Support area, with a minimum experience of between 2 and 4 years. Requires detailed knowledge of activities related to Microsoft System Support, Back-up system and limited knowledge of other functions.
