Database administration relatedto:
Installation and Patching.
Start-up and shutdown.
Database parameters
Managing database files andspace.

Managing Oracle TNS related issues and thelistener.
RMAN backup and recovery.
Cold backup and recovery.
Using Export/import and Export/import data pumputilities.
Performance management.
Managing database objects (Table, indexes etc.)
Managing database objects coderelated (Packages and procedures)
Database reorganisation.
Database management on Windows, AIX, SUN andLinux.
Possible standby regarding the database.
Consulting regarding best practise with regards toimplementation of Silica and Fiscus code and objects.
Consulting regarding database bestpractises.
Creation of Change controls for database changes on UAT and Production
Implementation of Changecontrols regarding database and application.
DR validation and testing.
Writing of SQL and PL/SQLcode.
Capacity planning.


OS related activities:
Scripting of jobs for databaseadministration on AIX and Windows.
Automation, same as above point.
Patching ofdatabase software.
Creation of files system on AIX, SUN and Linux.
Managing filesystems on AIX, SUN and Linux.
Capacity planning.


Application related:
Support to otherteam members with regards to the setup of the application environments with regard to the Oracledatabases.




Skills & Experience
At least 8 years experience as a Database Administrator working within a team with SybaseAdaptive Server, ASE Replication, Sybase IQ and Oracle.
At least 5 years’ experience on AIX/SUN/LINUXadministration and script writing.
Strong Technical Database Administration and database performancemanagement skills
Knowledge of the financial industry (preferably Investment Banking).
Good understanding of Oracle11g database and related products.
Work together in a team of diverse disciplines, MSSQL, Sybase, SybaseIQ, Sybase Replication, Oracle 11G, Oracle Replication


In-depth understanding of theSilica database systems as well as the dependencies on and relationships to othersystems
An in-depth understanding of Capacity Planning, Change Management proceduresetc.
