The AWS Support Team deploys talented engineers to support these customers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day from the USA, Europe and Africa.

As we are a global 24x7 support team, you must be open to working non-standard hours which may begin as early as 7am or finish as late as 11pm depending on your assigned schedule. You must also be prepared for a non-standard weekend which will include working either Saturday or Sunday on a regular basis. For example, a typical schedule might see you working Tuesday through Saturday from 7am to 3pm or from Sunday through Thursday from 3pm to 11pm.

Basic Qualifications
You should be an expert (5+ years of progressive hands-on experience) in Linux server administration preferably looking after 100 or more servers.

You should also have strong networking and virtualization skills and experience.

What we’re looking for:

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Amazing eye for detail and ability to solve problems
Comfortable dealing with technical people or novices alike and can explain difficult concepts in a simple, understandable way
Strong technical competency
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Strong customer focus and experience working with customers
Experience in a mission-critical online, e-commerce environment serving thousands of customers is a definite advantage
Have a strong understanding of how to architect a large online site in the cloud
Like any great system administrator, you should have strong scripting skills and maybe some programming background in Java, C++, Ruby, PHP, Perl or similar
