PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Responsible for the full financial management function for 3 entities.
Financial & Management Reporting:
1. Monthly Responsibilities:
- Determination, implementation and management of appropriate financial (IFRS) and management
accounting
- Determination, implementation and management of appropriate related taxation compliance
- Determination, implementation and management of appropriate control processes
- All of the above in compliance with Group policy
- Completion of shared services commentary templates and review of department commentary
- Completion of shared services presentation (inclusion in monthly results presentation)
General journals for:
- Capex assessment for reasonability
- Fixed assets movement
- Depreciation on-charge
- IAS 17 lease smoothing
- Onerous leases (three leases)
- Payroll journal
- Any other IFRS adjustments required
Review of the following before submission:
- Inter-companies (invoicing and ICO confirms)
- Management Packs
- Forecast Packs
- Taxation computations
- Commentary
- BEE reporting
- Treasury reporting
Half yearly Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax packs
- Prepare provisional tax computations
- Assist with review of subsidiary tax packs (including Tarsus Shared Services)
Taxation:
- Transactional tax review and filing (VAT & PAYE)
- Statutory compliance: all taxes
- Resolution of any SARS audits
- Tax Risk Committee assigned tasks
Audit:
- Any audit preparation needed above normal month-end and half-yearly responsibilities
- Preparation of annual financial statements for:
Tarsus Property Holdings
Tarsus Shared Services
Dormant companies
- Assist with review of subsidiaries financial statements
Budget:
- Assist shared service departments with budgets
- Prepare budgets for:
Tarsus Shared Services (head office and head office third party)
Tarsus Property Holdings
Tarsus Technology Group (Company)
Treasury:
Banking signatory
Online banking administrator
- Review and authorise payments
- Review and authorise petty cash cheques
Banking administration maintenance: local bank accounts for all group companies
- Cheque, fax, email, telephone, internet, foreign exchange
- Opening, maintenance and closing of accounts
- Signatory, user, designated person and administrator maintenance
Group loans
- Maintenance, management and reporting
- Interest calculations
- Including communication to group companies and reviewing intercompany confirmations
- Management of quarterly and year-end positions
- Monitoring of any loan covenants – external (property); internal; per shareholders agreements
Cash flow management
- Reviewed and accurate cash flow reporting submitted
- Managing collection of group companies current accounts and loans; paying down banking facilities
Projects:
Group ERP
- Design, testing, implementation, maintenance, risk analysis
- Data clean-up and maintenance
- Super-user
Qualifications and Competencies required
Qualified CA (SA) with 3 – 5 years post articles experience
2 years solid managerial experience
Broad knowledge of accounting practices and process
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and Word
Proficiency in Pastel Partner
Proficiency in Microsoft AX (preferable)
Administrative management experience, with responsibility for maintaining records
