One of Datacentrixmajor client in Upington is looking to appoint a Desktop Support Engineer on a long term contract.The candidate must hold an A+ and N+ certification coupled with 6 years experience in the desktopsupport environment.

One of Datacentrix major client in Upington is looking to appointa Desktop Support Engineer on a long term contract. The candidate must hold an A+ andN+ certification coupled with 6 years experience in the desktop support environment
 
Experience & Skills

Minimum of 6years relevant experience within an IT Support environment

Previous experience within networking support, software and hardware supportessential

Provide physical first level support and diagnostics,assisting the Service Desk Agent’s, second Level Expert’s and third Level Experts

Perform first Level Diagnostics in cases where the SDA‘scannot

Assist with answering the phone during busy or peakperiods

Provide remote support to the SDA’s and Second Level Expert‘s

Fulfil the role of SDA during busy /peak periods after hours and over weekends

Build newworkstations, laptops, printers and any other required hardware configuration that is not covered byother contracts

Conduct swap-out of existing workstations,switches, notebooks, printers, monitors and any other physical component required during servicerestoration

Upgrade workstations, laptops and other hardware, asrequired, in line with existing maintenance contracts

Restoreoperating systems on workstations and laptops including Fids machines

Conduct Fids rounds according to the agreed schedule to ensure effective operation of theFids Infrastructure
Conduct an effective handover at the beginning and endof each shift, ensuring that no incidents are dropped, neglected, forgotten or poorlymanaged
