A permanentProject Manager Infrastructure position has become available with a client in the Automotiveindustry in the East of Johannesburg. Candidates must come from an IT support background and showcareer progression in Managing project in a similar environment.

Responsible for the planning, mobilization, managementand execution of projects by using approved project-management methodologies and principles. Workwith business to define its requirements in order to meet its objectives, including the developmentor assistance in the development of scope for the related projects. The success of the candidate notonly measured on project delivery but also an annual Customer Service Survey.

Inorder to achieve the above the role will be required to work closely with the Business Unit’s,IT executive staff, vendors and supporting environments using expert knowledge in the Microsofttechnology stack and related IT infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas:
Project Management



Directand manage infrastructure projects from beginning to end.

Define project scope,goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management andstakeholders.

Develop full-scale project plans and associated communicationsdocuments.

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members andstakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Liaise with project stakeholders on anongoing basis.

Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve projectgoals.

Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changeswhere necessary.

Where required, negotiate with other department managers for theacquisition of required personnel from within the company.

Determine and assessneed for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessaryduring project cycle.

Set and continually manage project expectations with teammembers and other stakeholders.

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriatepersonnel.

Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

Plan andschedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

Track projectmilestones and deliverables.

Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals,requirements documentation, and presentations to stakeholders.

Determine thefrequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshootproblem areas.

Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potentialcrises, and devise contingency plans.

Define project success criteria anddisseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

Coach, mentor,motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positiveaction and accountability for their assigned work.

Build, develop, and grow anybusiness relationships vital to the success of the project.

Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful projectelements.

Develop best practices and tools for project execution andmanagement.
Experience Areas



5 years’ experience in IT Project Management with specific focus onInfrastructure projects

5 years’ experience working in the IT industry.

Experience in operations, applicable standards, governance structures andframeworks.

Excellent knowledge of Project Management principles and theapplication thereof.

Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics,features, and integration capabilities.

Extensive knowledge of data processing,hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems, licensing models andincluding the communications environment.

Exposure to business theory, businessprocesses, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

Provenexperience in planning, organization, and development.

Ability to engage withSenior Level positions

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Good negotiation skills.
