Our client is a leading Telecommunication Service Provider in South Africa specializing in the provisioning of broad-based telecommunication, network and IP Solutions together with technical support services to small, medium and large organisations.

They work with blue chip clients and partners with well known telecommunications companies such as Mitel, HP, Alcatel, Avaya and Ericsson.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



The primary responsibility will be business development and sales which are mainly project based within the telecommunications industry. This includes the directing of the overall sales operations in the telecommunications market sector group, supervision and development of the sales team, meeting sales orders, revenue and gross margin targets, the development and implementation of a marketing programme and the management of the sales planning process for existing and new clients, which include:



· Achieve assigned personal and team orders, revenue and gross margin.

· Understand the telecommunications market in order to develop and implement a complete marketing programme for the telecommunication market sector group’s products to support the company’s objectives.

· Ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships with third party consultancies and emerging technology companies are established for the benefit of the client.

· Defining and implementing market sector group strategies and policies, identify target and niche markets and develop product/programme positioning. Launch and promote the programme through PR, seminars, marketing materials, etc.

· Managing the sales planning process for the Market Sector Group in order to maximise potential business taking into account the business plans . Setting and monitoring standards for the quantity and quality of sales activity.

· Providing the managing director with timely forecasts and ensure their accuracy and achievements.

· Ensuring the achievement of quality and client satisfaction for the market sector group.

· Managing, motivating and developing sales and marketing staff in order to maximise individual and team performance.





KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



· Degree or equivalent highly desirable.

· Experience in an IT sales environment.

· Experience in telecommunications

· VOIP experience

· Experience in selling data services

· Experience of selling to corporates

· Experience of developing and sustaining business relationships at key decision maker level.

· Relevant line management experience of coordinating sales resources and third parties in a project context is highly desirable. Knowledge of financial, marketing and business management processes and experience of implementing sales planning processes.
