Cybersecurity Analyst sought to act as Subject Matter Expert for Global concern. Our client is a privately held Canadian company with offices in over 45 countries spanning 5 continents and over 4,500 employees globally. They pride themselves on maintaining a strong, enriching organizational culture and view their unique corporate culture as one of the most important keys to their success. They are looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to join their corporate division which encompasses their global shared support services. They are looking for an individual, based in South Africa, who will focus on their operations outside of North America. The incumbent will be accountable for providing guidance and requirements to address security compliances and reduce risk. This involves collaborating with multiple teams and guiding the various initiatives, ensuring engagement and advancement in the multiple cybersecurity domains. Responsibilities will include engaging with business entities to mitigate cybersecurity gaps; conducting Cyber Security audits on business entities’ IT systems; performing Cyber Security due diligence on third parties and vendors; collaborating with operational teams to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen Cyber Security controls and configurations; configuring and optimizing Cyber Security tools based on threat intelligence and the organization’s unique requirements; investigating Cyber Security alerts generated by various tools and platforms; assisting in defining, updating, and operating Cyber Security processes; assisting with writing and reviewing security policies and standards; generating reports and metrics that measure the effectiveness of Cyber Security controls; and contributing to raising the awareness to Cyber Security threats through training, Phishing simulations, bulletins and generally being a champion for Cyber Security in every interaction. To apply you should have 5+ years’ experience in an information security focused role with a technical background in networking and system administration. Your experience should be supported by a relevant qualification (degree preferred). It would be ideal if you have Cybersecurity certifications like CompTIA, ISC2 or GIAC certificate. You should have experience using and managing a variety of tools and technologies, like SIEM, EDR, NDR Vulnerability Management, Firewalls, or enterprise SaaS solutions. You will need to have a good understanding of application security concepts, penetration testing concepts and techniques as well as knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, MITRE, ISO27001, and PCI-DSS. Experience with Cyber Security investigations, Cyber forensics or threat hunting is a big bonus. Project management experience essential. The role will call on your good communications skills and ability to convey ideas and information orally and in writing. You need to be able to learn quickly and adjust to changing technologies and Cyber Security threats. This position would suit someone who is curious and able to think outside the box. You should have the ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently with proven success in handling conflicting demands and priorities effectively using a proactive approach to resolving problems. Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently essential. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have good judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive situations.
