Superb career opportunity with global FMCG organisation.  The purpose of the position is to coordinate activities related to the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the EHS management system. To ensure that the organization complies with latest EHS legislations, the company’s EHS policy and other related standards to enhance organizational EHS culture.
Accountabilites

Responsible to Implement and maintain the company’s EHS management system in accordance with the requirements of OSH ACT 85 of 1993, ISO   14001 and OHSAS 18001 and other EHS related legislations.
Responsible to keep up-to-date with Health, Safety & Environmental legislations and EHS legal register and advice Organization on the changes or new laws. Ensure that company legal register is updated, communicated amendments’ and new legislations which will impact on the organization.
Ensure that risk assessment is conducted and maintained by assisting the departmental risk assessment team in identifying, assessing any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or process, evaluating the risks and ensure effective control measures are put in place. Communicate high risk  to each department.
Together with Process Owners and HR, identify EHS training needs, develop EHS training plan, liaise training plan with Process Owners. Organize training, prepare training materials and conduct training where required and also co-ordinate for external training courses
Coordinate EHS Management Review meetings, management of EHS KPI’s and ensure continuous improvements on the system
Be willing to take up additional responsibilities such as, but not limited to Fleet Safety, Market Safety and Business Event Safety which might be off site.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Quality, Environmental Health and Safety would be considered as an advantage
3-5 years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment.


Good knowledge of EHS standards and procedures, ability to implement required standards independently
Experience in the implementation of ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001             
Computer literacy 
Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably Zulu
