As South Africa’s banks start to digitally transform, the role of a Machine Learning Engineer will be more about the use of robotic process automation and using data to turn it into rands and cents.
By merging AI with robotics, this banking partner is looking to improve automation so that parts of its customer journeys do not need to rely on humans making processes smoother and faster.

Your profile:

• Honours in Computer science, Econometrics, Mathematical Statistics, Actuary Science.
• 5-7 years’ experience in a statistical and/or data science role.
• Experience with Python, R is required, programming in C, C++, Java, Matlab.
• Experience working with large data sets, simulation/ optimization, and distributed computing tools; Hadoop, Hive, Spark
• Strong exposure to Machine learning and production processes.
• Experience in retail banking is an advantage.

Overview of the role:

• Perform the tasks related to pushing code into a production environment.
• Pushing streams and other results from the data engineering team into the DevOps environment.
• Optimise the architecture to produce models and data.
