Conceptualise and develop communication and PR strategies and implement plans to enhance awareness and understanding of the company as the auth. voice on business and management education issues.Ensure timely and effective co-ordination of all PR / communications interventions required for successful positioning.
Continuously improve efficiency of communications activities.
Effectively manage and execute the implementation of strategic communications goals
• Act as custodian for all Institution PR and publicity and actively leverage such opportunities to build the brand positioning in line with brand blueprint.
• Manage marketing events and Expos as required.
Develop strategic media relations capabilities
• Build relationships with key journalists.
• Maintain a database of all current key media contacts to be developed and maintained.
• Manage media for all appropriate forums, conferences and events.
• Initiate proactive contact plan, including media lunches as appropriate.
Creation of world-class editorial content and publications to build the institution's profile
• Writing, in conjunction with others, a range of articles, thought leadership pieces and press releases for a broad range of business, management and educational media.
• Maintain the look and feel for institution's publications in accordance with the agreed corporate identity and in conjunction with Marketing Director.
• Fulfil role as Managing Editor to the school's quarterly journal.
• Manage the content, production and publication.
• Excellent editing skills required.
• Exposure to layout and design of quality publications would be advantageous.
Creation of world class marketing collateral and brochures
• Conceptualise and develop in conjunction with the various business units and stakeholders, high quality printed marketing collateral.
• Manage in conjunction with reporting staff and appropriate agencies and suppliers, the production of a range of printed marketing collateral and brochures for all aspects of the school
• Maintain the look and feel for institution's publications in accordance with the agreed corporate identity and in conjunction with Marketing Director.
• Manage the quality of content, production processes and printing.
• Manage bulk email requirements across the organisation.
Improve cost effectiveness of communications activities and manage communications budget
• Manage relationships with service providers.
• Track communications expenditure against budget to ensure no overspend.
• Review / manage supplier contracts on an ongoing basis to ensure cost effectiveness of activities.
Assist Marketing Director with input into developing and managing communications budget.
Administration and control
• Ensure quality of output for all institution's marketing and communication.
• Ensure up-to-date contracts with communications suppliers in place.
Organisational and capacity building
• Responsibility for managing self and reporting staff.
Honours degree or equivalent.
A postgraduate business qualification advantageous.
Minimum of 10 years' relevant working experience in a corporate communications / agency environment.
Demonstrable track records in PR, communications and media relations essential, with a strong emphasis on writing and editing skills at a high level, in English.
Demonstrate an excellent understanding of PR and marketing sector and wider media landscape including print, online and broadcast.
