This position is made available for an IT Infrastructure Manager based in Centurion, to implement, maintain and increase the reliability of information technology infrastructure across all streams of business (insurance & Health)Education:
• Matric
• National Diploma in IT
• Min 5 – 10 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure
• Min 3 years as a Manager

Technical Skills:

Ensuring UPTIME of all technology solutions running all the different clients across all architecture and platforms through:

• Overseeing and administrating company platforms, technology and strategies.
• Identifying information system enhancements that will improve business support and support future needs.
• Plans, directs and coordinates activities in project rollouts to ensure infrastructure compliance.
• Managing IT operations that includes:
o All data centre and disaster recovery sites
o Physical and virtual servers
o Storage and backup infrastructure
o Desktop hardware
o Server and desktop operating systems
o Wireless options
o Local area and wide area networks (LAN/WAN)
o Telecommunications equipment and 1st line support
o IT helpdesk.

• Adjusting plans to meet business requirements and needs whilst still achieving stipulated objectives.
• Ensuring audit compliance.
• Management of IT Operations
• Network management
• Internal systems management

• Asset management
• Continuously improving IT processes and procedures
• Capacity management
• Management of staff
• Simplifying complex communication

Duties:
• Managing local and global infrastructure by working closely with business and IT leaders, vendors and suppliers.
• Ensuring maximum UPTIME (availability) of technology solutions throughout the solution stack; focusing on minimising losses due to system failure.
• Establishing service level standards and operating policies and procedures for overall system availability and individual system components.
• Organising the infrastructure team to provide support for software and hardware projects as well as new and existing application software including the maintenance of strategic technology architecture.
• Ensuring periodical review of technology appropriateness vs. system components and recommends modifications and/or upgrades where necessary to keep systems operating according to defined service level agreements and operating level agreements; providing the management within a technology “health checks” across streams.
• Custodians of the global IP bank.
• Successful management of IT expenses to ensure enhancement requirements across is technically viable with allocated resources; identifying shortcomings to be addressed with executive management.

Reference for this position is IT Infrastructure Manager which is a permanent position based in Centurion. Salary will be negotiable depending on skills.
