QUALIFICATIONS:
• Matric
• Internationally recognized Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources field
• Full knowledge of Pastel Payroll and Pastel HR systems
• Domestic travel will be required to branches in Port Elizabeth, East London, Durban and Cape Town

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Legislative Compliance
• Compiling Employment Contracts for all new employees
• Ensuring that Employment Contracts are signed, updated and filed
• Annual Employment Equity Reporting
• Annual Skills Development Levy submissions
• Ensuring compliance to National Occupational Health & Safety legislation
• Full knowledge of Labour Legislation & be able to interpret and implement such legislation
• Instituting and administering disciplinary procedures
• Representing the company at the CCMA should it become necessary
• BBBEE initiatives, monitoring and reporting

Human Resource Functions
• Ensuring that Job Descriptions are updated when necessary, that they are issued to the employees concerned, signed and filed
• Accurate and constant record keeping
• Ensuring that personal records are kept safe and confidential
• Full monthly payroll function including capturing of time sheets, calculation of overtime and any other relevant payroll data.
• Design, implementation and monitoring of Performance Management Systems
• Planning Y guidance on career development and promotion paths
• Implement and maintaining Company Policies & Procedures
• Monthly reporting to Managing Director

Administrative Functions
• Accurate recording of leave & filing related documents
• Updating and maintaining personal information on the Payroll system
• Full implementation of the Pastel HR system
• Monitoring and managing manual hours capturing
• Monitoring and managing the biometric clocking system
• Administering Company Medical Aid Scheme
• Administering Company Provident Fund Scheme
• Full filing and record keeping function
• Ensuring compliance to the Protection of Personal Information act

Staff Initiatives
• Social upliftment schemes with staff and socio-economically dependent organisations
• Running the Company Employee Education Program annually for children of employees
• Creating initiatives to uphold and maintain team spirit and camaraderie
• Planning and implementing Employee Wellness programs and initiatives
• Initiatives to improve or maintain overall health, wellness and happiness of staff members

Training
• Working together with department heads to plan, execute and accurately record all training for staff
• Reporting annually on the Workplace Skills Plan
• Claiming rebates and incentives from Government departments for training
• Identifying training needs outside of job descriptions in order to enhance and enrich staff members
• Ensuring that qualifications are renewed prior to expiration
• Monitoring whether newly acquired skills are being implemented in the workplace

• Ensuring that all personal information is kept private, confidential and secure
• Creating an environment where employees feel safe and valued when they need to discuss problems or concerns

Team Responsibilities
• Managing subordinate Human Resources staff (if applicable)
• Assisting national branches with all HR related duties
• Assisting team members outside of your scope of duty if the need arises
