In Pretoria but near enough to the Gautrain station for it to be a reasonable option if you live in JHB.

Putting this simply. Your job will be to design and build complex financial software. As part of a collaborative family of developers, you will solve problems, r&d solutions, champion tech, mentor and influence developer project success as well as code.The tech is forefront. The business is large (could it be that they exist in one of the few recession proof industries? You’ll get to decide for yourself). It’s a tech shop focusing on internal platforms & products.
The team is super strong. While you do not need super human skills; you do need to be aware of what you don’t know & know how to find out.

They’re going to ask you for a couple of personality traits:
• You’re a professional problem solver using tech – you are not a mindless beast of burden.
• Your natural curiosity demands that you find out when faced with something you haven’t seen before.
• The scars that you have gathered over the years, help you to avoid traps other people don’t see.
• You’re the type of person who wants to be involved, gets bored easily but knows how to finish out heavy duty projects.
The tech experience they will ask you for?
• You know C# well. You are probably working in .NET Core already & pretty excited about Core 3 coming but you’ve also seen the older stuff & can navigate and modernisation needed.
• Web. It’s all web based. That means ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Api and Javascript are pretty comfortable spaces for you.
• Rest. Rest. Rest. You know how to build large services.
• SQL Server – DB Design and dev. It’s a staple these days.
They’re hoping you will know a couple of other things but they’ll train if you don’t:
• TDD / DDD.
• Azure including Service Fabric.
• Micro services including Docker / Kubernetes.
• C# Azure. Micro services. Rest. WebApi. SQL Server. Senior Developer. Architect. Influence more Junior developers.
