Job Purpose
To be the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your technical domain by providing solutions and advice to business across multiple complex problem sets, working with vendors to improve IT technical domain solutions as well as providing support to junior staff

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Maintaining and managing the AIX, Linux, Solaris Platform. Incorporation of all activities and associated resources that perform deploy and operate functions pertaining to AIX, Linux, Solaris Platform across Standard Bank’s IT operations, into one centrally managed operation.
• Actively and Proactively engage with stakeholders such as P&SM, Capacity Management, FIT, BSM and Strategic support vendors
• Actively automate and improve service to increase service availability and reliability
• Ensure service availability, hardware and software currency and service restoration and automation
• Risk management - any and all identified risks need to be logged on the UNIX risk register such as security risks, infrastructure resilience and support risks, disaster recovery risks

Preferred Qualification and Experience
National Senior Certificate
AIX, Linux, SolarisCertified Administrator (or equivalent
AIX, Linux, SolarisCertified Engineer (or equivalent)

Experience:
Extensive technical and operational management experience in complex technology environments. Experience in leading a large organisation (preferably globally)
Demonstrable track record.
Good understanding of the current state and strategic direction of IT Infrastructure.
Strong understanding of the business climate and technology needs in the global enterprise.
Negotiation experience, particularly across the geographies and cultures of a global organisation.

Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
Knowledge in Building and supporting RHEL or SLES, Clusters, GPFS/Spectrum Scale Cluster management, Suse Manager or Satellite, Rhev.
Supporting large complex implementations using a range of the AIX, Linux, Solaris technologies.
