Main purpose of the job:

Provide superb information security support to Innovation Group users and clients.
Compile and maintain information security systems documentation detailing security topologies through professional and detailed diagrams and explanations.
Establish, maintain, and increase client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and caring service.
Future proof design and improvement of information security solutions based on best practice security standards.
Monitor, remediate and prevent security incidents. Anticipate problems and propose solutions in a professionally prepared document.
Writing detailed and professional proposals.
Coordinate installation, maintenance, upgrade or deployment projects within allocated time and budget. ? Troubleshooting difficult or time-sensitive problems with members of the Network Team.
Assist other teams in the department with projects, as a direct participant and lend your unique areas of expertise when required.
Mentor and work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.
Provide training to other members of the team to ensure contingency of the Security Engineer role.
Remain current on emerging technologies to ensure solutions are driven towards the future via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.

Be a driver behind the company vision and goals by helping improve security practices, as well as choosing key technologies to ensure that our business solutions are stable and sustainable, ensuring the success of our clients.
Administer network and security devices/systems that enforce security posture.
Implement technical solutions to contractual requirements supporting security standards/recommendations ISO 27001 and SANS 20.
Assist in response to external audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
Recommend and coordinate the application of fixes, patches, disaster recovery procedures to prevent any known security breach.
Research emerging technologies in support of security enhancement and development efforts.
Conduct risk assessments, penetration tests and diagnose internet/extranet security, intrusion attempts, and cyber-crime response.
Perform project leadership tasks on selected security projects.
Solid overall knowledge of all aspects of security, not limited to infrastructure, WAN, application and database. Must be able to perform hands-on support for a wide range of security technologies including, but not limited to: IPS log analysis, malware analysis and protection, content filtering, logical access controls, identity and access management, data loss prevention, content filtering technologies, application firewalls and vulnerability scanners.
It is expected from this Security Engineer position to stop the need for hiring security consultants to get the job done.

Matric
CCNA
McAfee TPE/CEB suite and EPO
One or a combination of CISSP, SSCP, CISM, SANS, GIAC
JNCIA-Junos
JUNOS-JEX
JNCIS-SEC
JNCIS-FWV
McAfee IPS or equivalent certification

Experience required:

Registered with a Professional recognized information security body.
3 or more years in IT Security.
3 or more years configuring, installing, and troubleshooting information security appliances and software.
3 or more years’ experience configuring security best practices on Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
3 or more years of experience, working with Juniper SRX and ScreenOS firewalls.
3 or more years building and administrating secure wireless networks. Experience with Aruba wireless equipment and management software will be an advantage.
3 or more years of experience designing and optimizing security architecture for high availability, performance and stability.
3 or more years experience working with IPS technologies.
3 or more years experience working with vulnerability management technologies.
3 or more years experience working with content filtering technologies.
3 or more years experience working with Managed Antivirus technologies.
3 or more years experience working with Endpoint encryption technologies.
Experience working with security technologies such as: McAfee IPS, McAfee Endpoint Security, McAfee Mobile Security, McAfee Vulnerability Manager, McAfee EPO, McAfee EMM, WebEx, Juniper SSL (Network Connect, Pulse) and Bluecoat or similar technologies will be an advantage.
Experience in VMWare and AVAYA networking architecture is required.
3 or more years’ experience working in desktop, server and voice environments.
3 or years experience in working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, Juniper SSL VPN, etc.).
Experience in working with compliance and regulatory program requirements.
Experience analyzing network, event and security logs, and/or IDS/IPS alert logs.
Change management experience within a call center environment.
Auditing Experience will be an advantage.
Corporate governance and risk management experience will be an advantage.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To ensure that all solutions reflect ROI:

System optimization
Propose new innovative, future driven solutions to business.
Due-diligence done on all proposals
Ensure that supplier invoices are received on time, accurate and that credit is received when cancellations are processed.

To ensure the stability and integrity of the network environment:

Uptime to be 99.9% of total measured by downtime reporting. Exclude downtime caused by 3rd parties.
Find solutions to security incidents and faults to ensure the absolute minimum disruption to business.
Proactively assess, monitor and maintain security hardware and software.
Preventative maintenance and backups.
Ensure industry and vendor best practice configurations are in place.
Ensure updating how-to documents, system information, policies and procedures.

To ensure that success and happiness of the client is maximized:

Successful completion of helpdesk requests within shortest possible time retaining SLA’s two day MTR.
Ensure that all helpdesk requests have closing comments explaining the fault and resolution.
After hour availability, willingness to provide support and standby schedule to be updated monthly.
Availability on company cell phone when afterhours support is required.

Reporting, documentation and Feedback:

Weekly and Monthly Management reports on security posture.
Ensure that there is a formal downtime report provided within 24 hours for each major disruption to business. All downtime caused by security failure to be logged in JIRA helpdesk.
All network critical security incidents to be logged on Jira helpdesk within the same day.
Handing documentation in on time and providing feedback to Managers on requested information within the time allocated.
Downtime report to be updated once a fault has been cleared.
Corporate security governance documentation in place and updated.

Project participation:

Willingness to participate in other Support IT department’ projects.

To ensure that the company infrastructure is secure:

All equipment and software patched to the latest stable version.
A vulnerability scan done monthly and all vulnerabilities remediated.
Security threat events monitored, logged and remediated.
