Bachelor degree (preferably Masters) in computer science, software engineering or other related field
At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst
Outstanding ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business needs and develop appropriate business and technical solutions
Strong understanding of all aspects of the IT service development lifecycle
At least 3 years experience in software development
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Initial 2 year contract
One of your initial projects will be the MeerKAT Imager project (linked with the Square Kilometre Array project), which will focus on the development of visualisation technology for massive datasets, with particular application to the fields of radio astronomy and bioinformatics.

Business Analyst responsibilities include: • Investigating and documenting user requirements • providing process and solution guidance to stakeholders • designing, documenting, testing and delivering new or revised functionality • Contributing towards the development of procedures and supporting materials relevant to the Business Analaysis role • Participating in and/or managing projects with limited impact.



Minimum qualifications, experience and skills:

Experience with any of the following would be to your advantage:

Experience in Agile software development methodologies (particularly Scrum & Kanban)
Strong ability to converse with business clients, end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation
Strong knowledge of business process re-engineering, ideally with some experience
High appreciation of both IT and business strategy and knowledge of the organisation’s business
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and have the capability and initiative to work with minimum supervision
Experience in an academic environment
