Applications are invited for the permanent post of Computer Laboratories Manager in the Faculty of Humanities for appointment as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing several of the Faculty’s student computer laboratories. He/she will work closely with other members of the Central Technology unit in Humanities.

Responsibilities include:

- Management and administration of student computer laboratories
- Management of lab assistants
- Management of computer literacy testing and training
- Network/user administration
- Financial administration
- Provision of technical support
- Liaison with student representatives, other IT staff and relevant University service providers

Requirements:

- A technical qualification in Information Technology
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a computer laboratory, preferably in a higher education environment
- Experience in management of staff
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Provide technical assistance
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, within a team and independently

The annual cost of employment for 2015, including benefits, is between R292 819 and R344 458.
