6 months contract position.

You will typically be doing 65% code and 35% technicaldesign and mentoring.
You will remain current on technology trends applicable to thebusiness
You will use appropriate technical design methods to explain your approach andensure technology, legal, security and process standards are followed across your assigned businesssegments.  Understanding and communicating technical and functional design requirements as wellas understanding project expectations as communicated by the Solution Architect and Project Manageron the project(s). 
Required Prior Learning
Skills andQualifications:
B Degree in IT/IS or equivalent degree or IT/IS diploma
5+ years of Java/J2EE/JEE/Java Applets experience
5+ years of experiencedeveloping/supporting customer facing web applications 
Experience withHTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX
Web User Interface Design
Software Requirements, SoftwareDevelopment Process, Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
Multimedia Content Development, SoftwareDebugging

Job Duties:
Defines objectives by analysing user requirements,definition and design documentation
Envision system features and functionality
Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectationsand features priorities throughout development life cycle
Determine design methodologies andtool sets
Complete programming using languages and software products; designing andconducting tests
Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages ofcustom development and purchase alternatives
Integrates applications by designing databasearchitecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems,search engines, and information servers
Creates applications by using authoring tools, welldocumented and in accordance with both best practice and company policies
Completesapplications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing toteam meetings
Troubleshooting development and production problems across multipleenvironments and operating platforms.
Assign work (development / unit testing / bug fixes) tojunior developers; mentor, coach and quality assure their delivery
Supports users bydeveloping documentation and assistance tools.
Updates job knowledge by researching newinternet/intranet technologies and software products
Participate in educationalopportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating inprofessional organizations
