Our client is a successful software company that develops applications for the financial markets. Their roots originate as software developers for the South African Gilts market and apart from growing in the variety of systems they now offer; they also boast an impressive and fast-growing footprint worldwide. Their ever-growing client base includes several financial institutions and stock exchanges that span from East Africa to Jamaica. This equates to a very busy support team and sees them needing to appoint an additional Tester / Software Support Consultant to ensure the smooth and trouble-free operation of clients' comprehensive software systems. Responsibilities will include manual testing of desktop and web based applications, customer support (providing professional assistance to clients on site, telephonically or via email), as well as documentation including Business and Functional Requirement Specifications, Release Notes, Test Cases, Test Scripts, User Manuals, Client Feedback Documentation, and Progress Reports to name a few. You will also be required to manage the TFS system. As such experience in Team Foundation Server is essential. You should also be well versed in MS SQL, Windows Services, and have previous experience in testing and supporting desktop and web-based software applications. The role would suit an individual who has completed a BCom Degree and/or ISTQB Certification, who is a strong communicator and is persistent in following up with deadlines. Must be computer literate and have a strong numerical ability. Knowledge of the Financial sector and experience in Automated Testing and Crystal Report Writer would be an advantage. To excel in this role, you will need to have a genuine desire to help customers and prioritize their needs, display initiative and have integrity.
