QUALIFICATIONS:• Matric
• Diploma or Degree in the field of computer science
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2003/2008 with Microsoft Exchange
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supporting Active Directory
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DNS, DHCP and networking ability
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Antivirus software
• Ability to install and troubleshoot network equipment
• Bluecoat Optimization Certification will be advantageous
• Microsoft SCCM experience will be advantageous
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Working experience in configuring and implementing the following solutions:
• Routing and switching – LAN, WAN, VLAN’s,
• Wireless LANs
• Bandwidth Optimization devices
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Experience in managing and supporting a medium to enterprise size network of +/- 1200 – 1600 people country wide
• Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, and other hardware
• Manage company Windows 2008 Active Directory environment
• Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed
• Provide network performance statistics and reports
• Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near and long-term network capacity needs
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
• Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and Third-level troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices
• Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances
• Manage servers, including database, e-mail, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
• Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
• Manage security solutions, including anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
• Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Perform server and security audits
• Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
