JOB PURPOSE:

To provide technical analysis and design of enterprise systems supporting defined business processes and functions.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Define the application and technical architecture structure, ensuring that it meets the business requirements and performance goals that the technical direction is consistent with the client’s long-term direction.
Work with the customer and end users to define application and technical requirements.
Work with other architects to ensure that the products and components work together to meet the objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements.
Fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the technical environments that come with the packaged software.
Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Review and integrate the technical architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations environments.
Make decisions regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security.
Perform the application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation, and ensure that the product fulfills the requirements. When applicable, work with other architects on these tasks.
Design and develop application tiers, database tiers, i.e. models, infrastructure and security designs for enterprise solutions.
Work with the support unit to determine how the application is supported in production, including back-ups, disaster recovery, system performance, and project management.
Obtain stakeholder buy-in for application and technical designs.
Review application and technical architecture deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and requirement traceability.
Identify and communicate any cross-area or cross-release issues that affect other project areas.
Ensure adherence to all quality management plans and standards by participating in quality management reviews
Validate the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

IT related degree/qualification or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Analysis, with minimum of solid 3 years as solution architecture designing complex and large scale systems in a project environment
Practical experience in the programming languages and Microsoft Technologies environment and must include C#,XML, web services and SQL tools
Working knowledge on business modeling tools, UML and standard process flows
Working experience on integrating systems
Working experience and knowledge on systems design life cycle and object orientated methodologies
Ability to probe for further information or greater understanding of a problem
Ability to gathers many different kinds of information and uses many different sources to build a rich informational environment (including data bases) about events, issues, and situations occurring inside and outside business unit, in preparation for decision making
Systems thinking - Demonstrates an understanding of how one component may be a part of a much larger system
Applies specialist and/or detailed technical expertise
