Well-known Fashion Retail Company requires a Buyer / Merchandiser in Johannesburg area.Requirements:
 

Degree or National Diploma in Fashion design
3 - 5 Years’ relevant Fashion Retail experience in a similar role
Must understand all fundamentals of trends and design as they will have to design and make changes to all sourced garments and fabrics
Must have a Valid Passport and willingness to travel internationally at short notice (China, UK etc.)
Experience in merchandising, buying, price negotiations and international relations


Tertiary qualification in Purchasing / Procurement would be advantageous


Procurement experience within the fashion retail industry


Computer literate (Excel, Word, Pastel)
Effectively negotiate with suppliers
Effective administration duties relating to deals, meetings and actions
Proven track record in building outstanding customer relationships


Excellent communication skills verbally and written
The ideal candidate must be diplomatic, mature and able to interact with suppliers and internal customers
Must have the ability to work under pressure


Valid code 8 driver’s license and own transport

 
Duties (including but not limited to):
 

Sourcing and buying fashion for the Group
Buying and sourcing of new styles, fabrics and trends


Coordinate and partner with Central Office
Manage order quantities and branch deliveries

 
Applicant must reside in Johannesburg or surrounding area.
