Role details:
The Administrator is responsible for the configuration, integration, installation and maintenance of the Application Monitoring across multiple environment including the following Operating Systems, Solaris, AIX, z/linux and Windows infrastructure.

An Administrator is accountable for:Installs, configures, integrates, maintains and troubleshoots Application Monitoring for Application Services.
Provides technical support to the application developers for the development, QA and production environments for a variety of business systems.
Assures development, QA, and Prod environments are kept updated and in sync.
Serve as a liaison between the development teams and Application Monitoring administration teams as it relates to the web based applications.
Raising of Changes as per the Governance Process.
Actioning of Requests for Service, like adding new users, and quarterly clean up’s of users not accessing withing 60 days.
Setup and document meetings for technical team members and management.
Tracking of licensing and ensuring payments of vendors.
Plan & Organise:
Configuration as per program specification and agreed standards are documented and stored centrally on the Application monitoring Sharepoint Site.
Develop Business Support documentation with agreed standards.
Take part in reviews of own work.
Organise and manage diaires and meeting schedules for team and management.
Predictive budgeting and cost tracking monthly aligned to team standards.
Acquire and Implement:
Document work done as per the standards followed in the bank
Formulate and define application monitoring scope and objectives and devise/modify procedures to solve business problems
Develop familiarity with production operations, as well as established priorities and sequences for processes
Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT areas to ensure successful implementation and support project efforts.
Deliver & Support:
Working alone or with colleagues on simple systems, produce outline business specifications from Intergrated Solution Design or Functional Specifications.
Configuration of validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls, recovery routines and contingency procedures.
Working with developers, to configure appropriate tables and structures within design constraint.
Conduct reviews of supplied specifications as appropriate.
Complete all tasks assigned and any requests for assistance within reasonable time period.
Monitor and Evaluate:
Adhere to organisational standards and procedures
Adhere to project timelines and defect SLA.
Identify ongoing efficiencies and cost saving initiatives
Ensure all Financial recoveries are performed.
Setup,document and publish meeting information.
Ensure Changes,Incidents and requests for Service all meet specified Governance Criteria.
Project Follow up and feedback to team lead and management.
Follow up and minute meetings.
Internal and external relationships:
Primarily interacts with the Team Lead / Project Manager responsible for the Project / WR / RTB Fix on a regular basis.
Additional engagements with IT Control and possible Vendors.
Qualifications / Knowledge:
Matric certificate required.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT Diploma plus five years related IT experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.
Knowledge of Websphere Application Server, base and ND, ver 6 – 8.5
Knowledge of Web & EJB containers.
Knowledge of HTTP servers and Plugins,
Knowledge of SSL configuration and SSL certificate management
Knowledge of TCP/IP, JMS, JDBC, J2EE, JAVA, AIX, LINUX, UNIX, Windows, DNS
Experience with general web technologies (webservers, loadbalancers, databases, ldap, http protocol, JAVA, html etc).
Shell scripting and jacl/jython experience.
Experience with clustering and workload management.
JVM Administration experience (performance tuning, troubleshooting, general design principals).
Developing, testing and maintaining business continuity strategies relating to the application server environment.
Use of monitoring tools to troubleshoot performance issues.
Microsofy Office Products is a Must.
