POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day administration and support of the systems, tools and applications. This will include configuration, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of system procedures and policies. Maintain and update development, user acceptance testing and pre-prod environments.
Performs basic systems security administration functions, including creating customer profiles and accounts, monitor and manage system resource. Performs backups and recovery procedures, maintain system documentation and logs. Interact with the development and production support teams. Render on-call support as required.
QUALIFICATION:
EDUCATION: A minimum of a diploma in BSc Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent technical qualifications. A degree would be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE:4 or more years Systems Administration / IT experience (various computer, business operating systems, tools and applications)
Solid understanding of the UNIX based operations system, understands paging and swapping, interprocess communication, devices and device drivers, can perform system analysis and tuning.
Solid understanding of networking / distributed computing environments, understanding the principals of routing, client / server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file systems.

Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
Ability to quickly understand problems and devise effective solutions
Ability to apply and adhere to quality and standards
Ability to work in a team / interact with other teams.
