Job purpose:

Provide Test Automation leadership and guidance to manage the Test Automation delivery in line with the Test Automation strategy and objectives which are already set.

Accountability:

Project Capacity Planning (Test Automation Development, Maintenance, Execution)
Provide Technical Test Automation Guidance to Project team.
Assess and govern service delivery in line with the long term Automation Objective.
Managing project Issues & Escalations related to Test Automation
Assist with aligning Team with workload and skill demand
Reporting (MIS)
Implement, govern and maintain Automation Service layer
Deliver automated test solutions across Projects and Portfolios
Maintain consistent returns on the agreed Automation benefit (coverage, effort etc.)

Key responsibilities:

Provide Test Automation leadership and guidance to manage the Test Automation delivery in line with the Test Automation strategy and objectives which are already set.
Ensure that specific Technical “Management” focus is provided to the Test Automation Teams deployed to projects.
Keep control over process and governance related matters to ensure high reusability and feasibility factors during the Test Automation selection criteria.
Source & implement structured practices, mechanisms and toolsets to create, enhance and optimize the Test Automation Service.
Asses and action the feasibility of providing an increased Test Automation coverage within PBB Portfolios and Software applications.
Assist in enhancing the Test Automation frameworks to meet the Test Automation demands
Provide Subject Matter Expertise while exploring Toolsets, Toolsets proof of Concepts and Toolset Implementations.
To build and maintain a good working relationship with the Service Provider Management team as well as with SBSA stakeholders.
To ensure that there is structured processes to enable co-ordination between service providers and SBSA.
To ensure that Test Automation Services provides an effective service across the CIB and PBB divisions.
To ensure compliance to the Processes and Methodologies.
Manage Business programmes where assigned (Test Automation requirements, workload, resource estimations, timelines, test implementation engagements etc.)
Review Test Automation Approach documents
Plan Resource Utilization & Work allocation
Managing stakeholder expectations & workload
Enforce the use of Existing Automation Scripts
Assist with Managing risk and issue resolution
Manage Test Automation Dashboards & MIS

Problem solving:

Ability to resolve and manage problems effectively and timeously
Escalation to relevant support areas when required
Recognises the interdependency between areas identifies cause-effect relationships and reflects the ability to think in terms of integrated solutions

Planning:

Ability to manage own time and plan work delivery according to priority
Ability to assist in the development of a Project specific Test Automation Approach and incrementally deliver against this strategy
Ability to plan and Support test automation strategies for both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Holds strong accountability for successful implementation of planned initiatives.

Decision making:

Facilitates the Test Automation initiatives throughout projects to achieve the desired strategy.
Ability to re-examine the existing processes and suggest/implement improvements
Ensures that the Test Automation processes and procedures are in place and are aligned with the SBSA practices to facilitate the deployment of projects associated with the interdependent application areas.

Knowledge:

Require knowledge of the Bank’s computer systems and an understanding of the processes used within the Branch/Head office and Africa environments.
Has a high level understanding of the functionality and impact of a wide range of IT Applications across the Bank, but is able to “drill down” into specific Business units when required.
IT Process Knowledge - Demonstrates sufficient understanding of and experience in IT Processes so as to be able to change structures, services, teams and delivery approaches to enhance delivery and support of IT solutions.
Understands Test Automation concepts, frameworks and purposes
Knowledge in Test Automation principles and techniques
Understanding Test Automation Tools across platforms and landscapes.

Experience

Technical hands-on Test Automation experience across various test tools.
Minimum of 5 years IT experience (consisting of test Automation, technical testing & resource Management)
Banking Applications & System experience
Testing in Agile methodological environments and projects
Test Automation
