Data Analyst (Life Insurance Industry experience a must) Northern Suburbs, Cape TownA vacancy is currently available in Group Forensic Services Department for a senior experiencedData Analyst to join their team. The role encompasses support to Group forensic services Operationsand Business through analysis of data and processes to assist in the implementation of enhancements,to minimise non-compliance to AML, to enhance continuous monitoring with specific focus on fraudrisk and operational risk initiatives within the company, and to improve applications to supportGroup forensic Services Department & business. RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS Support (Risk)management in the analysis of breakdowns or weaknesses in and the proposing of enhancements tocontrols that pose risk to the company with specific focus on the risk of commercial crime. Extractlearning from white collar crime investigations Provide ad hoc support to the Global ForensicServices to enable forensic investigations where commercial crimes are committed against the companyProvide data analysis in the form of descriptive analysis, trend analysis, data extracts and datamodeling for identifying trends/ patterns to highlight anomalies or irregularities. Perform ETLprocesses where applicable (extract, transform and load) as to assist with data mining / continuousmonitoring activities. These actions may include cleansing of data, writing programs / SQL scriptsto identify relationships and tracking exceptions. Identify and interpret data structures acrossvarious data basis to facilitate data analysis and continuous monitoring activities. Identify andinterpret business processes to facilitate and enhance data analytics to be undertaken.

Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Commerce degree or BSC degree (Computer Science orInformation Technology) or IT certification. Risk management qualification will be advantageous. Atleast 7 years working experience within the Life Insurance industry. Minimum 5 years of dataanalysis experience. Experience in, knowledge of, and a concise understanding of, a Life InsuranceCompany’s exposure to fraudulent risk potential or real. Financial services industryexperience with specific reference to the financial services industry will add value.
