BI Consultant sought to join a company operating at the centre of the digital transformation. Our client is a Cape Town based company, specialising in Business Performance Management, Business Intelligence & Business Analytics. They assist companies to automate business processes, improve efficiency, and ultimately increase profitability and offer a combination of onsite, offsite and offshore services for implementing BI & BA solutions to local and global customers. They are looking to appoint a BI Consultant to join their dynamic consulting team and work with new and existing clients using Microsoft Power BI and SQL whilst cross skilling to IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). You will be part of the team that supports all the existing solutions developed for clients and will be required to develop a detailed understanding of each solution covering the business logic and processes. You will also design and build new solutions for clients based on the business requirements. Typical Solutions include Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting, Costing, and Reporting solutions. Responsibilities will include working as a solution lead, analyst, and developer for new and existing BI or SQL projects; working on data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects; developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI trackers; performing extract, transform and load (ETL) any form of a database; and interfacing with APIs as part of the data pipeline to calculate accurate metrics. They will look to you for the growth and development of Power BI skills in the company. To apply you should have an Honours degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting coupled with Microsoft Certifications in Power BI stack and SQL and a minimum of two years’ working experience in developing and supporting BI solutions using the Microsoft stack. You should be well versed in Power BI and SQL; MS SQL Server RDMS; SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular; SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Your experience should include modelling and creating relational databases using SQL you should have experience with unstructured data and consuming data from SQL technologies as well as integrating with Cloud/SaaS/PaaS solutions, APIs, and integration with other applications. Experience in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) will be an advantage.
