Role Purpose:

The Hermes Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring delivery of the Hermes product suite from a development perspective, and will be a key component to the business drive of the trading team.

Accountabilities & Deliverables:

Single person responsible for maximizing the return on investment (ROI) of the development effort from the Hermes Development and QA team.
Custodian of the product Backlog, and responsible for prioritising and adjustment of this backlog through consultation with the Business Owners.
Consolidate bugs and enhancements to drive these through the product.
Manage day to day function on product by working closely with operational teams and clients to ensure smooth function of product.
Keep up to date with regulatory changes, maintain relationship with the exchange and ensure software conformity with the exchange.
Engage with the Business owners in terms of product direction, product satisfaction etc.
Responsible for documentation, specifications.
Provide product updates and roadmap internally.
Understand alternative products and the competitive landscape.

Internal Relationships: Hermes SCRUM Team, Support, Implementation, FIX Services, Ops, Aus Dev/Support Teams, Business

External Relationships: Hermes Clients, JSE

Core Skills, Knowledge and Attributes:

BCom IS/Informatics, BSc Computer Science or similar qualification.
5+ years’ experience in Financial Markets with an integral understanding of trading.
Strong communication and documentation skills
Strong business analysis skills
Strong organisational skills.
