Description:

Comair Limited, a JSE listed Aviation Company, is looking for applicants for an Information Manager position
based at Comair’s Head Offices in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, Johannesburg. The Information manager will
be required to lead the IT information architectural effort to facilitate the creation, development and
utilisation of the information asset of the company and within IM/BI global best practices, to create
competitive advantage and to provide guidance in this regard to Comair Management.Key Performance Areas:

To manage and deliver a strategic direction to the Information Management section and ensure that the team deliver in terms of the performance expectations for the section
To develop and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
To manage the designing, building, and maintenance of the IM architecture solution for the business and ensure that it is accessible and secure.
To develop IM strategy, policies and standards and ensure compliance to these within the department and
business

Requirements:

Grade 12 (Essential)
Tertiary qualification (BSC or BDegree) in General Business Management/ Business Administration/ Informatics or Information Systems or other relevant (Essential)
Post Graduate qualification in relevant field such as IT, Statistics or Mathematics (Desirable)
7 years experience in Information Systems environment of which 2 years is in Information Management (Essential)
2 years experience in leading others to achieve outcomes / Management Experience (Essential)
Experience in Integration services, Data warehousing, Reporting services and Analysis services (Essential)
Experience in Development Methodologies and/or IM Methodologies (Essential)
Experience with an IM front-end tool and MS SQL Development (Desirable)

OR WITHOUT A TERTIARY QUALIFICATION:

10 years experience in Information Systems environment of which 2 years is in Information Management (Essential)
2 years experience in leading others to achieve outcomes / Management Experience (Essential)
Experience in Integration services, Data warehousing, Reporting services and Analysis services (Essential)
Experience in Development Methodologies (Essential)
Experience with an IM front-end tool and MS SQL Development (Desirable).

Purpose and context of the job:

The Information Manager reports directly to the Executive Manager IT, CC, CIO. The incumbent in this position
is the custodian of the company’s Information asset. The incumbent must supply information to the business
and give the Comair Management advice within Global Best Information Management Practices. The
incumbent is the custodian of the company’s information strategy and information standards, and must
ensure that the team delivers to required business expectations. Internal liaison takes place with all business
stakeholders, Exco and Business Intelligence. External liaison takes place with suppliers and partners.
