Preferred Qualification and Experience
The incumbent is expected to have:
a)At least 5 years previous banking experience.
b)Previous managerial/supervisory experience.
c) Suitable knowledge/understanding of the following systems:

Retail Forex System
FEDS
CIF
OSD
BankTrade
StorQM
SITE Tables
Money Markets

d) Must be able to communicate at all levels.
e) Computer literate and a good working knowledge of MS Office suite, Internet & MS Outlook.
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
(a)Matric
(b)Data Management and/or Finance degree would be an advantage
(c)Foreign Exchange Fundamentals knowledge.
(d)Fundamentals of Financial Markets




Job Purpose

Co-ordinate the activities of the Operational Reference Data Analyst areas to ensure that work performed ultimately meets SLAs and customer requirements
Effective and efficient day to day production management focusing on the quantity & quality of work
Optimum utilisation of available resources
Management of risk adhering to the Risk Management framework
Minimise the cost of production
Responsible for all Run The Bank initiatives
Manage administrative tasks as and when required.
Run with ad hoc projects as allocated by the Head: Central Data Group.

Duties
Appraisals

Conduct appraisals for subordinates annually (and during the year as and if requested).
Moderate all appraisals completed by the reporting managers for non-managerial staff.

Job Descriptions

Approve and sign job descriptions for subordinates.

Projects

Delegate ad hoc projects allocated by the Product Owner and the Head of CDG.
Run with ad hoc projects as allocated by Product Owner and the Head of CDG.
Ensure that processes are aligned and updated for all new Projects onboarded.

Staff

Assist any and all departmental staff as requested or required (open door policy).
Ensure staff growth and retention by managing talent and promoting succession planning.
Team goal setting and discussions

Reporting

Report on overall monthly activity of Operational Reference
Monthly Reporting KRIS for London and SA
Incidents within 48hrs for SA / London
Ensure proper alignment between reported and issues logged
Internal Surveys to be sent out to stakeholders Quarterly

Risk Management

Ensure a Risk Map and RCSA exists for LDN and SA
Monitor incidents on the London Action tracker.
Escalations and Complaints


Keep the Head of Central data Group informed of any developments that may result in interest claims or losses or may adversely affect the department’s image.
Complete the corrective action plan (RCA) as soon as possible for any items that may be identified during an internal quality audit within the department and e-mail to the Internal Auditor.
The Managers of CDG should take responsibility for ensuring that the corrective action is taken to avoid escalations and Complaints

Cost

Contain costs and keep losses to a minimum.
Peruse monthly income statements and query any discrepancies with the finance team

ISO

Approve working instructions and procedure manuals for CDG
Deal Non conformances raised by Internal Audit and ISO.
Ensure that all compliance training is completed for current and new Recruits
Staff Training records to be updated and sent to ISO.
Ensure all staff understands how to access the QMA system and have read the Additional Policies and Quality Policy
Revised Estimations:


Prepare revised estimates for budget as required, usually four times per annum.
Revised estimates are revisions of our original budget based on actual expenditure (RE1) (RE2).
Instructions on how to complete this budget are distributed with the spreadsheets

Competencies

A formal management qualification will be an advantage.
