Site Supervisor Mechanical / HVAC

The purpose of the Site Supervisor is to:

Be accountable over a team and specific sites with various responsibilities. 
Ensure that all work on site is planned and completed according to Company standards and that all employees on site work according to Company’s Health and Safety policies. 
Identify the sales possibilities and be able to discuss with the customer.
The site duties can range from maintenance, refurbishment, cooling tower installation and site build to turn key projects.
Ensure projects are executed with quality, efficiency, on time with minimal cost resulting in complete customer quotations.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

A minimum of National Diploma in mechanical engineering or NQF 5 equivalent level qualification or air conditioning technical qualification plus 3 years’ experience in the field working on cooling or refrigeration equipment will be preferable.  
Possess knowledge of replacement techniques, installation techniques, continuous improvement, project management skill, customer satisfaction techniques and continuous quality improvement techniques.
The site supervisor works with a great deal of independence and must possess the drive to achieve substantial results without a day to day direction.
Excellent communications skill both written and oral;
Sound management and leadership skills

Well organized and sound planning skills
Valid driver’s license
Moderate Computer skills

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Scheduling teams including the leading of meetings and updating the recording data; this will be done monthly, weekly or daily where applicable.
Liaising with customer regarding the scheduling of the team availability and booking.
Inspection of warranties reported and managing the full process including the final deliverables.
Assist sales teams where needed with either site visits, reports or customer update.
Day to day supervision of service team.
Plan and take full responsibility for site work, parts and labour.
Ensure all schedules are completed and discussed with spare parts provider.
Create the necessary risk assessment and ensure the PPE (personal protective equipment) are worn at all times and replaced when deteriorated.
Ensure that all tools on site are in a working condition and to report any damages in writing to the Service Supervisor.
Complete a daily tool inspection every day before leaving site to assure that no tools are left on site.
Ensure that all lock-out procedures were followed.
Ensure that all paperwork are completed and signed off by the customer.
Ensure housekeeping before leaving site.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the company registered vehicle inspection
Ensure compliance of overtime is as per the company requirements
Contract workers management is as per the company requirements.

 
WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of his job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk up staircases and climb into cooling towers up to 40% of the time doing reports and quotations. 
Working conditions include those of the normal Mining and Construction environment, as well standard Hazards associated with installed HVAC equipment and rotary equipment. 
This position requires a valid driver’s license and to travel 30-40% of the time. 
This position also requires time in the office to do planning and scheduling.
